ESPN InPlay
American Express joined forces with ESPN to create InPlay, a 2nd screen game that lets fans play along with the US Open. It was social and in the moment. As pros played on the court, InPlay served up real-time predictive questions that fans could answer to win tickets to next year’s tournament.
We gave tennis fans everywhere had a chance to play their way to the U.S. Open. For year American Express had found ways to enhance the viewing experience of people watching in-person, but InPlay invited anyone with a smartphone to join the match.
